Jennifer “Keonaona” Stacey Bryan, 67, of Waimea died April 20 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she was an interior designer. Private services. Donations may be made in memory of Jennifer “Keonaona” Stacey Bryan to Na Kalai Wa‘a and/or Kipuka o ke Ola (Five Mountains Hawaii, Inc.). Survived by husband, Michael Bryan of Waimea; sons, Tyler Brawner of Honolulu, Wilds Brawner of Paauilo; mother, Priscilla Cappis of Waipahu, Oahu; brother, Jonathan Costa of Waimea; sisters, Gwen Costa of Waimea, Heidi Costa of Honolulu; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Burt Kaleialoha Jose, 63, of Oahu, formerly of Hilo, died March 23 at Wahiawa General Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hilo. A memorial service with military honors 9 a.m. Friday, May 7, at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Pavilion in Hilo. Face masks and social distancing required. Private burial to follow at East Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by brother, Bernard “Kanak” (Estelle) Jose of Wailea; sisters, Carnation “Lei” (Rodney) Castillo of Honolulu, Shirley (Kealoha) Medeiros of Kona, and Betty (Randall) Jose-Brannam of Hilo; an aunt, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Howard Namanu‘ulaokalani Loo, 80, of Waimea died April 19 at home. Born in Waipio Valley, he was a retired heavy equipment operator with the Hawaii County Public Works, a former bishop of the Honokaa Ward and a member of the Waimea 2nd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Memorial drive-through visitation 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 1, at the Waimea Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survived by wife, Adele Loo of Waimea; son, Roland (Virginia) Loo of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; daughters, Rena (Keoni) Lindo of American Fork, Utah and Rona (Jonathan) Marquez of Honokaa; brothers, Kelly (Norma) Loo and Ainslie (Anita) Loo of Kukuihaele, Chuck (Geraldine) Loo of Honokaa; sisters, Clara (Jeremiah) Alip of Sandy, Utah, Violet Loo and Barbara Wright of Waimea; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Helen Simpson Young, 90, of Kailua-Kona died April 23 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired administrative assistant for Augustine Realty and Chaney Brooks &Company. Private service to be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Easter Seals of Hawaii. Survived by daughter, Lynn Olival of Kailua-Kona; sons, Gary Vannatta of Hilo, Bruce Vannatta of Honolulu; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.
